“TOM DOOLEY – A WILKES COUNTY LEGEND:” 8pm, The Forest’s Edge Amphitheatre (Historic Fort Hamby Park, Hwy 421 North, Wilkesboro), $15. This is the story behind the famous Kingston Trio ballad, Tom Dooley. It is a lover's triangle, an unsolved mystery and one of the nation's first highly publicized crimes of passion. 11th ANNUAL PARROT HEADS CHARITY FUNDRAISER

Parrot Heads of the Triad will host their 11th annual charity/fund raising event, Slice of Island Life (SOIL), for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). Camp Carousel is a bereavement camp for children ages 6-12, teens, and adults grieving the death of a loved one. It offers grief support groups, art and music therapy, writing, animal-assisted therapy, and a variety of fun and creative activities designed to help those who are grieving significant death-related losses.
