If you’re looking for an after-work or weekend gathering place to meet your friends, neighbors or colleagues — with the added bonus of an incredibly amazing view — CB’s Tavern in Winston-Salem should be your next stop.
Open since last November and already a favorite spot for locals, CB’s Tavern offers a spirited mix of tunes, fun and fellowship in a laid-back atmosphere where you know you are always among friends. That’s why folks can’t wait to stop by.
Owners Cherie Bottoms and Bobby Register knew there was a niche to fill near where they live and that opening a neighborhood bar would be the perfect outlet for their shared passion of working in the service industry; and for Cherie, the opportunity to show off her skills in the kitchen. She also knew it was the ideal place to park and to operate her popular food truck — Bite 2 Eat.
Inside the charming craftsman-style venue, you’ll be welcomed by plenty of camaraderie and a menu that’s geared towards bar food (think succulent, slow-roasted wings, southwest quesadillas, a tempting “Tavern” burger or pulled pork nachos) but with the unexpected twist of homemade chicken salad and crowd favorite pimento cheese dip, too. Outside, there’s a spacious patio and a view of nature’s fabulous sunsets that you and your friends won’t soon forget.
It goes without saying that there’s music — live bands with varied artists and varied genres from rock cover bands, country, pop and southern rock to blues, jazz and funk; and with a CB’s Tavern membership (a bargain at just $10), most bands and special events are free of charge. While enjoying one of their popular themed nights (Are you still a big fan of the 70s and 80s?), soulful acoustic performances or the very best DJ and karaoke around, this is the place to relax and rejuvenate with your significant other or meet new friends who share your love of music. For all you trivia buffs, Tyler Perkins of Get Vocal Entertainment Triad does mind-blowing “Trivia Tuesdays” every Tuesday evening beginning at 6:30pm with plenty of drink specials to keep those creative juices flowing!
CB’s Tavern opens at 4pm daily but is also happy to host private parties at other times, so consider them next time you are organizing a corporate event, a milestone birthday party or even an engagement or wedding celebration. Cherie is pleased to create a special menu for your event, if needed. Cherie and Bobby are also thrilled to have the opportunity to spotlight — and share proceeds with — a different deserving organization in the community each month, including The Children’s Home of Winston-Salem, Senior Services, The SECU Family House and local suicide prevention groups.
“We meet people from all walks of life and provide a setting for our patrons to relax and enjoy their time here,” said Cherie, happy that their dream venue has reached so many people in the first few months since opening. “I’m a firm believer that food feeds your soul! Our goal is the whole experience.”
