6 Feel-Good Things to Try in March

Spring is on the horizon with its fresh blooms, vibrant colors, chirping birds, and warmer days. It can be the beginning of a new adventure, a fresh start, or simply another opportunity to take control of your happiness this very day. And to spark a little inspiration, we’ve compiled a short list of activities for this March that we recommend giving a try. Some may merely make you laugh, but overall, we hope to inspire you to find joy in the simplicity of life.

  1. Reevaluate Your Diet

And no, we’re not talking about weight loss. Consider reevaluating your diet to give yourself a boost of healthy nutrients, such as seasonal fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins. Maybe even challenge yourself to eating only wholesome, balanced meals for the next two weeks. And as a result, you may find that you have more energy, your digestive system is on track, and both your body and brain are feeling their best.

  1. Do Something Selfless

True selflessness is acting without thinking in advance about how you will profit or benefit from the act. It’s those genuine small (or sometimes large) acts of kindness that serve to benefit the other person. Simple acts of selflessness can start with allowing someone to merge into traffic on a busy day, forgiving others, telling people how much you appreciate them, smiling at strangers, bringing a cup of coffee to your coworker, or helping someone lift a heavy object. It shifts the focus from our own egos and desire, to focus on what would make someone else happy, and in return, you’ll more than likely experience even greater happiness yourself.

  1. Leave a Note

This very well can be categorized under a selfless act, but more than that, this can become the greatest form of encouragement to those around you. Make someone’s day by leaving them a one sentence note on their car window, bathroom mirror, inside their lunch box, etc. For your children, maybe it’s words of affirmation. For your spouse or significant other, maybe it’s reminding them how much you love them. For a coworker or friend, maybe it’s wishing them a great day ahead. Don’t think too deep; just write the first thing that comes to your mind!

  1. Try Becoming a Good Listener

You may have grown up hearing this old-time quote: “Listen with curiosity. Speak with honesty. Act with integrity.” Well, one of the greatest problems in communication today is that we are often too quick to speak, choosing not to listen to understand. We listen in order to reply. However, developing good listening skills to understand the other person talking can benefit you in three unique ways. First, active listening can help build stronger relationships and better trust. Second, active listening can help you resolve conflicts smoother and quicker. And finally, active listening helps you to build more knowledge.

  1. Learn Something New

Maybe you’ve been longing to learn the piano for years, to learn a new language, become a master at DIYs, or discover the next game-changing skincare product to make life easier on-the-go. Whatever your passion may be, the ticket is to start setting aside allotted time each week to learning that new skill. Then, take that time to research that topic or watch a quick YouTube tutorial to continue advancing your skills.

  1. Straighten Up!

Our posture often dictates how we feel, so here’s your gentle reminder to hold your head high, your shoulders wide, and walk like a boss!

And just like that, you’re on your way to a healthier and happier you this spring season!
