A Note from the Publisher: February 2022

Can I be honest with you? Getting this issue completed was extra challenging. In fact, writing this note to you was something I kept putting off because my frustrated brain had writers block. Between deadlines falling right around the holidays (yes, we work very far ahead!) and simultaneously finishing up our once a year magazine, Forsyth Community… it was a lot. I was grumpy. I was irritable.

I had to take a step back and think about why we’re doing all of this in the first place.

What is the purpose behind Forsyth Woman Magazine? Why does our team have so much passion, energy, love, and joy for this publication? It’s because we love being a positive light for our community when life can be hard and the news can be negative. We love connecting women and businesses of all walks of life. We love engaging with the amazing people in and around Winston-Salem.

And for this, I am incredibly grateful. The word “grateful” doesn’t even sufficiently describe how I feel. I’m beyond grateful. THANK YOU for picking up this magazine each month. And if this is your first time readingForsyth Woman—welcome to the Forsyth Mags family! We’re so glad you are here!

February is an exciting month! For starters, we have an extra special Girls’ Night Out! It’s a Galentine’s Party!!! Bring your best gals to Village Inn on Thursday, February 10^th. Food and drink specials, a photo booth, tons of door prizes… you won’t want to miss it. Learn more HERE.

We’re also well into planning our first-ever Women on the Move leadership conference! This event will take place on Monday, March 28^th at WinMock. We’ll have eight engaging presentations from nine local ladies, shopping with local vendors, networking, food, drinks, tons of fun photo ops, and so much more. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the Forsyth Mags Foodie visited Black Mountain Chocolate! I had the pleasure of joining her and all I can say is OMG. Run—don’t walk—to go grab yourself a chocolate chunk cookie. The absolute best cookie I’ve ever put in my mouth. Brooke Eagle

Brooke Eagle is the publisher of Forsyth Woman and Forsyth Family Magazines and the host of the Forsyth Magazines Podcast. She was born and raised in Clemmons, NC and currently resides in Winston-Salem, NC. Though Brooke graduated from High Point University with a degree in Elementary Education, she chose to join the magazines full time immediately after college. Her strong work ethic, love for community and leadership skills have been recognized by others as well! Brooke is the Immediate Past President of the Lewisville-Clemmons Chamber of Commerce, past President of the Professional Women of Winston-Salem (now Triad Women’s Club) and served on the Trellis Support Leadership Council (previously Hospice of Winston-Salem). In addition to her role with the magazines, Brooke is the co-owner of Washington Park CrossFit. Her role with the magazines and the gym aligns perfectly with her personal mission of having a positive impact on the growth and development of her local community. In her spare time, Brooke loves spending time with her family and friends, especially when that time is spent on the water! She loves wake surfing, snowboarding, CrossFit, and being a dog mom to her Bernedoodle and German Shepherd.
