In the growing suburb of Lewisville, one store’s variety and selection stands above the rest. Accessorize This offers shoppers a one-stop location for gift giving, fashion needs or just a little retail therapy. “When customers come to Accessorize This they can expect to have fun shopping!” said Gina Player, store owner. “It’s a more relaxing shopping experience. A recent customer said that she could buy a great gift here and have it packaged quicker than she can find parking at the big box stores. This is retail therapy at its best. There is so much to see here and it’s just fun taking it all in.”
Gina makes sure that she stocks her store with her customers in mind. Every year she attends a market in Atlanta to pick out the latest and greatest items to bring back to her store. “This year we are seeing much softer colors as compared to last year,” Gina said. “Among other shades we are seeing mint green, paler pinks and corals, baby blues and lavenders. While chevron is still a dominant pattern, stripes, geometric shapes, as well as southwestern and Aztec styles are influencing this year’s patterns.”
Gina said you can also expect to see more nautical themed accessories and pieces featuring elephants and foxes in the shop, as they continue to grow in popularity. Gina said she has also seen a change in jewelry buying trends recently.
“While we have loved our silver jewelry for a long time, gold tones have been trying to make a comeback for the past couple of years,” Gina said. “It has been slow to take off, but I think more and more women are having fun with the gold tones and the mix of colors with gold. For those not ready to wear gold, antique gold and copper tones continue to be popular as well.”
Accessorize This is definitely staying on top of the latest jewelry and accessory trends but they are also venturing into apparel this spring and summer. “I have new tank dresses, tunics, cardigans and blouses, as well as sandals and rain boots,” Gina said. “It’s very exciting to have these new lines in the shop and the new addition of apparel has been well received.”
Gina says that she has several lines that are exclusive to Accessorize This, such as handmade Dichroic glass jewelry by Deb Johnson of Clemmons, copper, brass and sterling rings handmade in Israel, jewelry made in Georgia from nickels and pennies, and fair trade items from The Challenge Farm in Kenya.
While the selection and quality at Accessorize This speak for themselves, Gina hopes that all of her customers walk away from a visit feeling satisfied and appreciated. “I think what sets us apart is our eclectic selection of accessories and gifts,” Gina said. “We try to go the extra mile in getting to know customers and listening to their preferences. Lewisville itself was overdue for the type of shopping Accessorize This offers, but our central location makes shopping convenient for so many other areas, too, like Clemmons, Yadkinville, Pfafftown and western Winston-Salem.”
Gina said she encourages readers and potential customers to venture into Lewisville and make a day of the visit.
“With recent additions to local retail and other services, Lewisville offers a full day out, from morning coffee to retail and salon services, including several options for lunch,” Gina said. “You can finish the day at a nearby vineyard. If you live in the area and haven’t made the short drive, it’s worth it! Treat yourself to a fun day with friends while staying close to home.”
