America’s Premier Skating Event is Coming in January!

The largest Winter Sport National Championships in America – the 2015 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships – will take place January 17 to 25, at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex. The Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships will crown 20 National Champions and will feature America’s Olympians from the Sochi Winter Games that took place earlier this year.

After a series of regional and sectional competitions, approximately 375 skaters will be selected to compete in the U.S. Championships in Greensboro. National champions will be crowned in Ladies, Men, Pairs, and Ice Dance at the Senior, Junior, Novice, Intermediate and Juvenile levels.

Greensboro also served as host city for the highly successful 2011 AT&T U.S. Figure Skating Championships and set the all-time Greensboro Coliseum Complex event attendance record with more than 161,500 total on-site attendance. Greensboro is the first city in the eastern United States, since New York City in 1945, to host the U.S. Figure Skating Championships twice in four years.

Competitive events will take place over a span of nine days next month with multiple sessions each day. The Championships will conclude with the much-anticipated Smuckers’ Skating Spectacular, an exhibition of champions from events throughout the week. As it did in 2011, Greensboro will once again stage the three major event components – Competition, Practice and FanFest – all under one roof.

56-Maia-&-Alex-Shibutani-SFW“Our event schedule includes 20 competition sessions and the Smucker’s Skating Spectacular on Sunday, January 25, for a total of 21 ticketed events during the nine-day Championships,” said Hill Carrow, Chairman of the 2015 U.S. Prudential Figure Skating Championships. “The Championships are only a few weeks away and are expected to be the single largest event in the Carolinas during 2015.”

“This is going to be an incredible event featuring many of the leading figure skaters in the world. A variety of ticket price options starting as low as $10 are available so that everyone may have the chance to enjoy the Championships,” Carrow added. “Tickets make excellent holiday gifts, not only for skating enthusiasts, but for anyone who enjoys great family fun together.”
