Clemmons Bicycle

As the days get longer and warmer, there’s no better way to enjoy time outdoors than riding a bicycle. Whether through your neighborhood or on a trail, bike riding is one of the best exercises you can choose for yourself or your family. If you are a new cyclist or a seasoned one riding since you were a child, Clemmons Bicycle is your go-to place for all things bicycle!

Cycling Encourages a Healthy Lifestyle

Our modern-day bicycle has come a long way, as has the reason people ride. The bicycle’s history dates back to 1817 in Germany and was initially a way of transportation in everyday life. Today, although some still commute on their bike, bicycling has become a great recreational activity. In the past 25 years, biking has become a great way to spend time with family and friends. Travis Beane, owner of Clemmons Bicycle, said, “The local cycle scene is wide open for all levels of riders. At Clemmons Bicycle, we work hard to provide a wide range of cycling products and services. We specialize in customer service. We listen, educate, and help customers find the right style of bicycle that fits their needs. We carry the largest, most diverse selection of bicycles, parts, clothing, and accessories in the Triad. We keep over 200 bicycles from 12 different manufacturers in stock at all times.” Not only can Clemmons Bicycle help you find the bicycle perfect for you, but they can get you involved in bicycling.

“Our weekly ride schedule starts in April. We host a Monday Beginner Mountain Bike Ride at Tanglewood Park, a Wednesday Road Ride, and a Saturday Morning Road Ride, both starting from our shop’s parking lot. This year I also plan to host a weekly Family Fun Ride in Clemmons. Once the weather starts getting nice, our cycling calendar fills up. There is something going on just about every day after work and especially on the weekends. We support 25-35 cycling events each year in our area,” Travis commented.

Family Fun

In the 13 years since Travis has owned Clemmons Bicycle, his life has changed, and the cycles have evolved along with him. “As the dad of a two- and five year-old, everything has changed. It’s not just about bicycles and me anymore. My weekly schedule has changed from talking and riding bikes, to now taking the kids to daycare and kindergarten in the mornings and showing up for dance, soccer, and T-ball. I used to ride around 200 miles a week with the local cycling groups, but now I focus more on riding bikes with my family in the evenings and weekends. I’m carrying a larger selection of kids and family cycling products, too, from bikes to clothing and accessories,” stated Travis.

With the right equipment and a few pointers from Clemmons Bicycle, cycling on your own, with your family or in a team can be a great and rewarding experience. Once you get the right equipment, it is inexpensive and promotes a healthy and active lifestyle leading to a lifetime of enjoyment!
