Here ‘2 There Van Service, Inc. provides non-emergency transportation to residents in and around Forsyth County, so keeping their fleet running efficiently and smoothly is an important part of their daily routine. Owners Wanda Morrison and Glenda Shepard are dependent on the team at Express Oil to keep their 24 vans running smoothly. “For eight years, our respective teams have developed a great rapport,” said Wanda. “We appreciate the due diligence the Express Oil auto technicians give to each of our vehicles, including those that are wheelchair accessible. When repairs are needed, they provide clear and articulate explanations. Owners Gary and Rebecca Howorka are people we trust and respect. We know their team continues to look out for our best interests, plus they are always friendly, and knowledgeable!”
This is only one example of the glowing reviews and accolades that are a normal part of the Express Oil Change and Service Center business.
Rebecca Howorka and her husband Gary own and operate two Express Oil locations: Clemmons and Hanes Mill Road. “There’s a distinctive difference in both operations,” said Rebecca. “While both facilities are committed to providing quick, efficient, and quality automotive care, our Hanes Mill Road location caters more frequently to the business leaders working on the north side of Winston-Salem. Our Clemmons location is more community and residentially focused. At either location, our guests are greeted on the lot with a smile immediately upon arrival! Moreover, oil changes are just the tip of the iceberg for the services we offer. Short of body work, we offer total, comprehensive car service.”
Rebecca and Gary are so pleased by the support the community has shown their business. Since opening their two locations, the Howorkas have worked to show their appreciation through community involvement and the betterment of the community. They serve as sponsors to the Jerry Long YMCA and the North Forsyth Little League team. They are active members of the Clemmons Rotary and actively involved in the Clemmons Food Pantry.
In fact, in February 2016, for every oil change sold, the Howorkas donated $1 to the Clemmons Food Pantry, and for every mechanical service over $50, they made a donation of $5. “We were so honored to be able to support this exceptional organization in this way,” shared Rebecca. They are also thrilled to be able to offer the Clemmons Food Pantry support as a piggy-back on someone else’s generous gift. “When locally-owned mechanical contractor Sylvester and Cockrum donated a truck to the Clemmons Food Pantry, providing the Clemmons Food Pantry team a vehicle with which to pick up local donations,” said Rebecca, “we agreed to offer ongoing maintenance and service for the vehicle. It was the least we could do to show our support for this group of hard workers who are tireless in their efforts to eliminate hunger in our community.”
The couple also supports a Kentucky-based organization near and dear to Gary’s family. Watch, Inc. is a program for adults with disabilities and, as Rebecca shared, “This is a way we stay connected with our out-of-state family and support a great cause at the same time!”
Community is definitely at the heart of the business model for Express Oil Change and Service Center. It was a part of the franchise focus that made it an ideal match for Rebecca and Gary. “We are focused on giving exceptional experiences and supporting the community in which we live,” said Rebecca. “These are our neighbors, friends, and if we don’t support them, they don’t support us! Being small business owners, we recognize the value of giving back to the community in which we live.”
