F.A Madden Painting, LLC — Residential & Commercial Painting

Are your walls giving you dirty looks? Maybe they are in need of a fresh coat of paint? Is your deck looking a little rough around the edges? Perhaps your home’s exterior needs a little TLC to get more curb appeal? No matter what your painting needs, F.A. Madden Painting is the one to call for the experience and professionalism you want.

Frank Madden, originally from Bridgeport, Connecticut, grew up helping his stepdad with his painting company at the young age of eight for a couple of reasons. “During the summer months, I had two choices,” said Frank. “Either stay at home with four sisters or work with my stepdad helping him paint, make some money and get a sandwich from the deli. I didn’t want to stay at home at eight years old with my sisters, so I learned to paint.” However, Frank didn’t set out to be a professional painter, but necessity is the mother of invention.

“My wife, Tracy, and I both worked for AT&T in Connecticut, and during the company’s restructuring, she was transferred to Winston-Salem; but the only job for me within the company was in South Charlotte, and that was a long commute every day,” said Frank. “So, when we moved to Clemmons in 2008, I started painting to support my family. At a young age, I didn’t see myself painting full-time, but once I started, the business snowballed, and now I have two two-man crews along with myself. We do residential and commercial work, interior and exterior as well as staining, sheetrock repair, wallpaper removal and popcorn ceiling removal.”

With his business continuing to grow, Frank has found out a few things about having your own business. “Building a business alone is a full-time job, aside from my painting,” said Frank. “When I first started, it was hard finding the balance between work and home. I coached my kids, Benjamin, 14, and Abigail, 10, in sports and, at night, I found myself sitting at the dinner table with my laptop and missing out on family time; so that has been a challenge, but my wife is a big support for getting my business up and going, and I couldn’t have done it without her.” Also, a big part of Frank’s success is his crew. “I have a great crew, and they are very conscientious in their work and believe, like I do, in doing the best job you can and making sure each customer is satisfied when we finish a job,” said Frank.

During those work hours each day, Frank and his crew set themselves apart by doing things a little differently. “I believe in doing quality work and starting a job and staying with it until it is done,” said Frank. “There’s no beginning a job, then going to another one. Getting your house painted is not something that many people like to do, especially if you are getting several rooms done at once. So, having a painter who is efficient and keeps the work areas neat and clean makes a difference in the customer’s experience. When we do popcorn-ceiling removal, we contain the area we’re working in, so the dust doesn’t go all over the house, and then, when we are finished, I have a person come and clean the area. I make sure that I treat my customers’ homes like I would like mine to be treated. Most of my work is in the Forsyth, Davie, Davidson, Yadkin and Guilford areas, and I offer free consultations.”

Satisfied customers include Allen and Jamie Casstevens and John and Cheryl Valenzuela. “Frank was referred to us by our real estate agent when we bought our house a year ago,” said Jamie Casstevens. “The house was about 15 years old, and we could tell it didn’t have a real good paint job, so we decided to have the interior painted before we moved in. Frank and his team were always professional, and they showed up on time and did very detailed work. We have since gotten him to repair and paint sheetrock damaged by water, as well as pressure wash, strip and stain our deck and gazebo. We are very happy with the results.”

The Valenzuelas had Frank and his crews remove their popcorn ceilings and paint. “The popcorn ceiling was difficult to remove, but they smoothed and painted, making everything look new,” said Cheryl Valenzuela. “The team showed up every day on time until the project was completed. It is hard to find dedication like Frank’s today.”

“I want to make each customer’s experience the best it can be, and that starts with having a trustworthy team and keeping the project progressing in a timely manner with expected results,” said Frank.
