Hustle & Heart: 3 Ways to Utilize Brand Photography in Your Business

Your brand probably utilizes photography multiple times per week, but what’s the strategy behind each photo you share?

Over the last five years there has been a massive increase in brand photography as a career, and it’s no coincidence that entrepreneurs have been demanding to have beautiful photos of their business. Why? Because businesses have realized the power that quality photos of their brand have in creating connections and capturing customers.

Now, we all know that beauty is only skin deep but brand photography can serve your business in a multitude of ways that go way beyond just having “pretty pictures.” Here are a few ways to intentionally utilize your brand photos the next time you have a photoshoot.

Build Brand Recognition Across Platforms & Resources

You want a brand that stands out from the crowd and that happens by creating brand recognition. Think about a Facebook ad that pops up on your feed from Target. Before you even see the brand’s name you can probably tell who it belongs to because their aesthetic is burned into your brain by now. One of the easiest ways to build that recognition is through consistency and repetition! Choose a brand photo to utilize as your profile photos across your social media platforms, include it in your email signature, add it to the back of your business card and place it on the first or last page of your slide decks. Find multiple places to incorporate one to three of the same images you have from your brand shoot so your audience immediately recognizes your business when they see those images.

Create Content That Invites Your Audience In

Don’t forget to think beyond headshots! Brand photos should capture you and your team but also the magic of your business, even the mundane day-to-day parts you may not realize people want and need to see! Using brand photos across your social media posts and stories, inside blog posts and email marketing, and for press releases or promotional advertisements are all great ways to let people in. You want to share photos that give your audience a look at what it’s really like to work with you, and immerse themselves in your services or purchase your products. Give them a taste of who you are, who you serve and how you do it! Brand photos will allow you to demonstrate these very things so utilize them here.

Encourage Action Through Familiarity and Trust in Your Customer Journey

The purpose of your photos will always reign over how aesthetically pleasing they are! You want your brand photos to capture the right people for your business and help them take whatever action you’re looking for. Think about how your photos can create a sense of familiarity with the viewer because that is how you build trust! Whether you are a virtual or in-person business, people need to have trust before they pay you for something. Choose brand photos that show your face and your team, so they can see your brand’s personality shine through. Utilize your brand photos throughout the entire buying process to instill this and help encourage them to make a move with you. Incorporate your brand photos across every step of the customer journey in things like your advertising, website, services/pricing brochure, onboarding guide, welcome email, follow up survey, and more.
