Laster’s Fine Art & Antiques: An eye for beauty and detail!

With their stellar reputation as the place to visit for fine art and antiques in the Winston-Salem area, Laster’s Fine Art & Antiques – that’s the father and son team of Larry and Ryan Laster – are true experts in their fascinating field.

Laster’s carries treasures that will not only enhance your home’s décor, but also keep alive the precious memories and previous family heritage that accompanies each piece when it arrives in their showroom. After serving the Winston-Salem and surrounding community for over 40 years (Larry especially enjoys sharing his background in antiques with local clients), Laster’s is known for their dedication and commitment to excellence, and we’ve come to know their eye for beauty and craftsmanship. These are items that have been interwoven into the lives of many families – each with its own story – and will now add beauty to the new home of a lucky Laster’s customer!

Ryan points out their extensive inventory of one-of-a-kind pieces – many from around the world – and artwork that has withstood the test of time. Customers know the quality and value of what they discover in the Laster’s showroom, and that includes unique, solid wood furniture, treasured books and maps, timeless home accessories, exquisite china and flatware, and even jewelry pieces. The options of perfect treasures for your own home is endless, because the Laster’s inventory is constantly changing. That’s what makes the “hunt” so exciting!

Whether buying, selling, or consigning, Laster’s keeps their inventory priced to sell, and offers competitive prices to reach their ultimate goal of each and every customer leaving the store pleased!

“We do know our customers well,” says Ryan. “We know what will sell!”

In addition to selling fine furniture, antiques, and art (either through direct sales or through consigning, where they work on a 60-40 commission, with 60% going to the client), Laster’s is your go-to expert for estate tag sales, and by now you probably know they orchestrated the sale for Maya Angelou’s estate. Different from an estate auction, an estate tag sale takes place over several days, with everything tagged and priced to sell – from large furniture pieces to the home’s kitchen accessories and table ware, even table linens. If there are special heirloom pieces the family doesn’t wish to part with, but would like to simply appraise, they can handle that as well, along with free, onsite art appraisals.

If you’re not settling an estate, but are simply downsizing, the Laster’s team can step in to help you find a happy home for the furniture and household items you no longer need – and that can include a wide range of items! Perhaps it’s sterling silver, antique coins, paper money, or a huge collection of maps and prints, or even historical photographs and documents, fine art, family antiques, jewelry, sculptures, and other rare collectibles. Whether you have a particular need or are just in the mood to browse among their beautiful things, Laster’s Fine Art and Antiques is a wonderful place to unwind and discover!
