Midtown Cafe & Dessertery

For 30 years, Midtown Cafe & Dessertery has been a favorite among residents and visitors of Winston-Salem. Co-owner Jeff Cayton and his team are constantly thinking of ways to improve on the already-fantastic food, service and atmosphere. With extras like the Midtown Market offering some of your favorites ready to go, Midtown is bringing the family together again around the dinner table.

The newest addition to Midtown Cafe & Dessertery is online ordering. “We are welcoming the holiday season with online ordering options,” said Cayton. “By mid-November, you will be able to click on the “Order Now” button from our website, Facebook page or Midtown app, and order your favorites with ease. We teamed up with a nationally recognized online order and app designer to build our new ordering system that will bring about the same convenience as ordering at any of the national chains like Chick-fil-A or Panera.”

This new ordering system promises to save families even more time and will help make accurate ordering easier. “It will enhance the customer experience for those not coming in to sit down and eat,” said Cayton. “The new system will include features like easy-to-use prompts to guide you all the way through the ordering process, easy pay, detailed orders confirmed with completion times and a curbside delivery option. The orders received are triple checked, bagged and tagged for customer pick up.”

Midtown’s selections satisfy many different types of customers, and the new online ordering system is able to assist them all! “The four main customer segments are – someone who wants a typical to-go order from our restaurant menu; someone who wants something from our Midtown Market, which includes chicken pies, casseroles, lasagnas, party trays or the 25+ Dessertery desserts by the slice, half or whole; someone who wants a bit of both; and corporate lunch and breakfast delivery clients who are placing a catering delivery order.”

With all that it has to offer, the new online ordering system is sure to be a hit for those who love Midtown. As usual this time of year, guests can look forward to the menu changes to kick off the holiday season. “Our new fall/winter dinner menu features pecan crusted chicken, goat cheese grits, butternut squash lasagna, blackened catfish and standards like meat lasagna, slow roasted pulled pork and hearty meatloaf,” said Cayton. “Our seasonal desserts are in full swing featuring pumpkin pie, apple walnut cake, crème de menthe brownies and pumpkin pancakes (through the end of December). Also during the month of December, enjoy red velvet cake and bourbon berry bread pudding.”

As delicious as that all sounds, Jeff recommends placing holiday orders as soon as possible to beat the rush! Midtown Cafe & Dessertery is open until 8:30pm the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, closed on Thanksgiving, open until 3pm on Christmas Eve and closed on Christmas Day. They are open during normal hours on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
