Mac & Nelli’s is one of those local restaurants that combines great food with the option of a bar atmosphere. With a great menu featuring American favorites, there’s truly something for every taste bud at Mac & Nelli’s! I recently had the opportunity to sample some of their favorite items so I could share it with you, our lovely readers!

First up – Brie and Jam! Y’all, seriously – I love brie. It’s one of those decadently delicious cheeses that goes so well with so much. Served with a berry jam and plenty of toasted baguette slices, this is a meal in and of itself. YUM! For a dish that’s meant to be shared, you may decide you don’t like your dinner mates that much!

We next sampled Mac & Nelli’s Wings, a dish that is near and dear to any guy’s heart. But girls, don’t think the guys get all this spicy and messy goodness. Mac & Nelli’s wings are meaty, delicious, and served with the traditional celery and blue cheese. And, hey! Can’t get enough of those wings? Mac & Nelli’s has a party platter option! BONUS: Wing lovers will be THRILLED to learn that wings are 35 cents on Monday and Wednesday nights! Hello, Monday Night Football? Meet Wing Night at Mac & Nelli’s!

When it comes to Meatballs, hello, Italian grandma! What are you doing in Mac & Nelli’s kitchen? These made-from-scratch meatballs were full of flavor and served with traditional marinara sauce. Ah. May. Zing. Toasted Italian bread accompanied the dish. Tuesdays are Italian night at Mac & Nelli’s, with all you can eat pasta for $9.95!

It’s so hard to transition to entrees when you want to continue feasting on hearty appetizers, but I had a job to do. So, when a Mac & Nelli’s Classic Burger arrived at the table, I did what any red-blooded American girl would do. I said, “Okay, let’s do this.” And, wow… Eight ounces of certified Angus beef is traditionally served on a soft, warm bun with lettuce, tomato, onion, and mayonnaise. Cheese is optional, but seriously, who would say no? Served with their signature French fries, this is the All-American meal! And on Thursdays, you can get this burger for $5. A fantastic deal!

If you’re in the mood for pasta, you won’t go wrong with the Chicken Piccata. In fact, this is one of the most popular dishes you can get at Mac & Nelli’s! A breaded chicken breast is served over a plate of angel hair pasta, sautéed spinach, and capers. White wine, lemon, and butter provide the rich goodness that gives this dish its signature flavor.

For you seafood lovers out there, you’re going to want to sink your teeth into a pan seared Atlantic Salmon that is served with rice and sautéed spinach, and given a refreshing drizzle of cucumber dill sauce. This is another Mac & Nelli’s favorite and it’s no wonder! This dish is tangy, light, and very flavorful! Bonus? It’s big enough for leftovers the next day!

Few dishes are as American as a New York Strip Steak, and in addition to a 12-ounce strip steak, dripping with a rich and buttery bourbon glaze, the steak comes with two sides. We went carb-crazy with Red Garlic Potatoes and Mac & Cheese! First things first – this steak is for a hearty appetite so come hungry! The steak is cooked to order, and at our table, that meant Medium-Well. (I generally prefer my steaks on the rare side, but my dinner partners outnumbered me!) Everyone enjoyed it though!

And what’s a steak without its best friend, the potato! I love potatoes with the skins, so Mac & Nelli’s Red Garlic Potatoes were awesome. Besides the extra nutritional component, I simply like the added texture and flavor, so these are a potato fan’s delight! The garlic isn’t overpowering, and the potatoes are very creamy.

Mac & Nelli’s Mac & Cheese is the very definition of ooey and gooey. Served piping hot, this is a dish you’ll love so much, you’ll leave thinking, “Kraft who?” This is the real deal, y’all. Mac & Cheese at its finest!

We took a small break to enjoy conversation before we dived into dessert. The chef came out to present three options – a sweet feast any dessert lover would drool for! First, Red Velvet Cake. This Southern Favorite came with a thick cream cheese icing and was moist and delicious! If Red Velvet is your thing, don’t miss this one!

We also tried the Chocolate Cake – this three layer chocolate cake is all that chocolate cake is meant to be. Rich chocolate layers, assembled with thick chocolate frosting, and did we mention the chocolate chip trimming? Yeah – there wasn’t anything left of this one.

Our final dessert was my personal favorite – the Chocolate Brownie Caramel Cheesecake. Maybe it was the chocolate? Or the brownie? Or the caramel? Or the cheesecake? Whatever it was – they all played beautifully together in a dessert that is really okay to eat by yourself. I promise.

And that my friends, was dinner at Mac & Nelli’s! When are you going to make plans to go? When you do, be sure to tell them that Rosey sent ya!
