Rosey’s Review: Phoenix Grille

This month, I had the distinct pleasure of dining at Phoenix Grille. Previous owners of Deacon Tower Grille, Jack and Pam Welker, have outdone themselves with their newest venture! Phoenix Grille serves many of my favorites that Catered Affairs is known for, like the black bean cake appetizer and fresh calamari, along with some delicious new dishes I will absolutely return to enjoy again!

34-Roseys05-sFWTo begin, my table was incredibly spoiled with appetizers including:

  • Pimento cheese with summer sausage and house crackers – why can’t all pimento cheese be this good?
  • Bruschetta with fresh basil and perfectly crisp and light crostinis – so refreshing!
  • Black bean cakes with corn salsa and sour cream – I will never get enough of these.
  • Calamari with sweet chili and marinara sauces – light and crispy!

Not long after our dinner, I was describing the meal to a friend, and at this point when I transitioned to describe the upcoming entrees, he looked at me and said “Wait, I thought the appetizers were your meal.” Little does he know the blessing of being Rosey! There’s always more!
Porterhouse Angus burger served medium rare with steak sauce and onion rings – described as “better with each bite,” this dish did not disappoint!

Blackened chicken Alfredo which was rich with large pieces of tender chicken that were perfectly blackened and served with peas and broccoli. So delicious, with plenty of leftovers to indulge in later or save for the next day!

The grilled Angus meatloaf steak was flavorful, tender and filling – the perfect comfort food! Served alongside grits with corn topping, this entrée is a Southerner’s dream!

Lump crab cakes with grilled asparagus topped with lemon zest. Everything Phoenix Grille does is yummy and flawlessly executed, and this was no different!

As always, we struggled to find room for dessert, but with the delicious dessert menu at Phoenix Grille, it was a must!

Key lime pie with homemade graham cracker crust, raspberry glaze and whipped cream. Perfectly tart and sweet with the made-from- scratch goodness that normally only comes from home.

Half dozen cookies served with a pint of ice-cold milk. This one is truly irresistible. Choose one flavor or mix and match peanut butter, chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin baked to order, so they are warm and gooey!

What a fantastic night at Phoenix Grille! Once you try it, this restaurant will surely be at the top of your list for date nights, business gatherings, work lunches, birthdays or any time you want great atmosphere, fantastic service and even better food! Before you sit down and begin the difficult task of choosing from the extensive menu, be sure to tell them Rosey sent you!
