Your Best Life Speaker Series 2020: Mitch Albom, Author of Tuesdays with Morrie

Trellis Supportive Care, formerly Hospice & Palliative CareCenter, is excited to announce our Virtual 5thAnnual Living Your Best Life Speaker Series, featuring Mitch Albom, scheduled for September 30. Albom – the New York Times bestselling author of Tuesdays with Morrie and The Five People You Meet in Heaven – will speak on his latest book, Finding Chika. This memoir shares how a young orphan in Haiti changed his life and his understanding of family – teaching valuable lessons that can help us all live our best lives.

“Trellis Supportive Care’s first priority is always compassion for those we serve, whether that be our patients and their families, or our community at large,” shared Beth Forrester, Vice President of Donor Relations for Trellis Supportive Care. “With this in mind, we will host this year’s Speaker Series virtually, in lieu of our usual in-person event. To share this message of hope, we are waiving the event’s ticket price this year, but we need your support now more than ever. No matter what else is happening in the world, we are committed to delivering expert care for our patients. We ask that you consider a donation that will directly impact patients and families we serve.”

Started in 2016, the Living Your Best Life Annual Speaker Series event is an annual community event benefiting Trellis Supportive Care. This event is designed to significantly impact people’s lives, bring energy to our community and encourage us to ask ourselves, “Am I living MY best life?” One of the core elements of the Living Your Best Life event is to provide the community an opportunity to hear an acclaimed speaker who will address subjects consistent with the theme of the series, a message that will truly lead to an enhanced life experience.

We are excited for Mitch Albom to join us for our 2020 event. Tuesdays with Morrie, written by Mitch Albom, spent four straight years at the top of the New York Times bestseller list and is the best-selling memoir of all time. Mitch Albom wrote seven other #1 New York Times bestsellers – including The Five People You Meet in Heaven, For One More Day, and Have a Little Faith, and four of them have been made into highly acclaimed TV movies. Oprah Winfrey produced Tuesdays with Morrie, which claimed four Emmy awards including best actor for Jack Lemmon in the lead role. In addition to publishing, Mitch has founded nine charities in Detroit and operates the Have Faith Haiti orphanage in Port au Prince, Haiti, which he visits monthly.
